Getting to Malaysia

Information about travel to and in Malaysia can be found here:

Kuala Lumpur is served by over 45 international airlines. Visitors to Malaysia must hold a valid passport or travel document with a minimum validity of six months beyond the intended visiting period.

Most nationalities do not require visas for social or business visits, but you should check the list at the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

Getting to Kuala Lumpur

If arriving at KL International Airport, the fastest way into the city is via the KLIA Ekspres Train, which takes 28 minutes and arrives into the central station KL Sentral. One-way/return fares are RM35/RM70, with departures every 15 minutes. From KL Sentral you will need to continue to the hotel by taxi, which are plentiful and cheap (however you should insist that they use the meter).

Alternatively, taxis direct from the airport operate on a fixed-fare coupon system (available from a counter in the Arrivals Hall) and can be cost-effective if shared. The journey should take approximately one hour.
